About Us

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s Mission

Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church exists to bring glory to God and to make disciples as its members glorify God for his grace in their worship and life, grow in grace by the Word, and go by grace with the Word to the world.

OBJECTIVES

To accomplish this purpose we want to:

1) Join our hearts and lives in worship as we praise God and enrich our souls with the gospel in Word and Sacrament.

2) Grow and mature as disciples of Christ Jesus through lifelong study of the Word of God.

3) Seize every opportunity the Lord provides to evangelize lost souls and establish ministering churches throughout the world.

4) Encourage and equip every member for the application of faith in their lives of Christian service for the Lord, his church, and the world.

What We Believe

We believe that God's grace welcomes you, no matter who you are or where you come from. We believe that Jesus Christ is the true Savior of all people. By his perfect life, innocent death, and triumphant resurrection he saves all lost sinners even without our help. Jesus Christ makes us special people, right with God and ready for life! We learn this from the Bible, God's perfect message of grace and guidance for us.

Whether you are a seasoned Lutheran, a curious observer with little religious background, or a spiritual person looking to return to the church, we invite you to explore our beliefs further. If you are looking for a structured outline of our beliefs, the best way for us to help you is personal interaction between you and our pastor. E-mail him with your questions, or plan to attend one of our Bible Information Class series that are held several times per year. These classes are designed for nonmembers to explore, without obligation, what we believe as found in the Bible.

This We Believe is a confessional statement of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). It is one way members of the WELS, including Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, have chosen to confess their faith in Christ. This document publicly summarizes the main teachings of our church body. A Place for You

Our vision is to help make a big place small. Good Shepherd is a growing place! but two hundred people have found that they can become part of a true spiritual family as they follow God's purpose for developing relationships. let us help you along your spiritual journey as you find your connection to our community.

Where to Begin at Good Shepherd?

As you seek to learn more about Good Shepherd, you may be faced with the question,“Where do I start?” Here’s the simple answer - start with Jesus Christ. Good Shepherd exists to introduce you to Jesus, the God of forgiveness and grace. Although we are God’s special cre ation, created in His image, we missed the mark. We often want to play God instead of honor Him. We often want God’s place instead of God’s love. We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s holy standards. Our sin cost God’s Son dearly. His Son, Jesus, came to our world and lived a holy life so He could perfectly satisfy God’s requirements for salvation. He succeeded and was then sacrificed on a cross. It was the only way to remedy the wall between God and us. But Jesus conquered death. Shortly after the cross, He physically rose to life. Through faith alone in Jesus we can live in relationship with God again -- forever. So begin at Good Shepherd with Jesus! If you’d like more information talk to any of us or call us at 989-463-3056.

We have a place for you!

What do I do if I want to join Good Shepherd?

The pastor regularly offers a 10 week Bible study explaining the teachings of Scripture and the Lutheran confession. If the regular classes don't fit your schedule, he will be happy to have a special meeting time with you. Please talk to him about the next session.
